ESPA Deltas Researcher presents at IGU 2015
Mr. Ali Ahmed from International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh (icddr, b) presented some interesting findings from the ESPA study in International Geographical Union (IGU) Regional conference in Moscow, Russia from 17-21st August, 2015. The IGU is one of the world's oldest international researchers' associations and this year it took place in Lomonosov Moscow State University with the theme "Geography, Culture and Society for Our Future Earth."
Mr. Ahmed made his presentation in 'Health and Environment' parallel session in the first day of the conference and shared his findings on health and wellbeing status of coastal population in relation to ecosystem services based on ESPA Delta household survey. The presentation explored the association among food practice, calorie intake, nutritional status and hypertension prevalence of different socio-economic groups with local ecosystem services. The presentation was very well received and the response of the participants was very encouraging. Mr. Mahin Al Nahian, from icddr,b ESPA Delta team also participated in the conference with his presentation on climate change and gender.
